    • Strengths:
      • This tool is free
      • Do not have to register to use it
      • Easy to upload text, video clips, audio files, and photographs
      • Easy to edit each item uploaded by changing colors, effects, zoom, and deleting it
      • Numerous graphics
      • Various types of text boxes and wall designs within various categories including: basic, hippie, punk, retro, etc.
      • Can upload video from SchoolTube or another video website
      • Grab image or audio file from camera and microphone
      • When registered: can save and publish blog and have others view it or have it private
      • When registered: can search other gloggers, new glogs, top glogs, and glogs by categories.
      • When registered: can comment on other glogs and can rate on other glogs
      • When registered, can add glogs to favorites, online chat, and email
      • New addition: glogster.com/edu
      • Can create a glog for each student in class
      • Can create a glog for any subject to present information
      • Promotes creativity and individuality


    • Weaknesses:
      • Must register for others to view your glog and have access to other items on the website
      • Age restriction: 13 years or older to be a registered member
      • When uploading a file, sometimes you need to get out of the catergory and then get back in to see your file
      • Audio files that are wav files take a long time to upload
      • Glogs with a lot of videos take a long time to upload
      • Work must be saved frequently in order to not lose it during an upload
      • Glog has some content (i.e. pictures and animations) not suitable for elementary aged students
      • Glogster is still in Beta form

Opportunities:
      • Create and publish simple multimedia projects
      • Easy to add text, video clips, audio files, and photographs
      • Allows students to be creative in a form of authentic assessment, in a traditional testing paradigm.
      • Allows students to express themselves with the easy customization process
      • Allows students to collaborate with others by commenting on their peers' glogs
  • Threats:
    • Some glogs do not have appropriate material for younger children(some nudity, hate speech, and topics such as rape, suicide, and war)
    • If using YouTube, some schools will have this part of the glog blocked
    • Online chat could be an issue if adults are chatting with minors
    • Some schools may have Glogster blocked because of suggestive content
    • Anyone can have a Glogster. It may lead to cyberbullying or cyberstalking
  • Ideas for the classroom:
    • Complete a project on a famous composer and add video clips from a symphony orchestra playing his or her pieces
    • Complete a project on their instrument and add audio files and photographs of the instrument
    • E-folios
    • Create posters for various projects
    • Create posters to be presented at an art show or music concert
    • Create a poster that summarizes key content of a unit of study, basically an online study guide for students
    • Can be used as a form of assessment (midterm exam or final exam)
